EDUCATION

To understand the importance that the World Youth Alliance gives to education, we let you discover these different examples of what we try to implement for the youth from all around the world.

  • WYA’s Certified Training Program (CTP), is our collection of texts that provides the philosophical underpinnings for the mission of WYA. It presents a summary of philosophical, historical, and modern day texts that focus on the dignity of the person and human rights. Those who complete the CTP are equipped to articulate and defend the principles of the dignity of the person within the public square. The program is free and open to all members of the World Youth Alliance. It is a pre-requisite for participating in many WYA's programs (internships, specialized conferences, advocacy work).

  • Internship program: Young people inspired by our ideas and work can benefit from our internship and gain professional skills while working on our projects. These projects are designed to enhance each student’s specific academic background and interests. Interns receive mentorship and training from WYA staff members.

ART

  • Art is a vital part of any community and thus cannot be separated from a its culture. Art mirrors, classifies, and explains life. It can be composed of and influenced by various elements.

  • Art may possess objective value in the manner that it evokes objective human values like truth, goodness, and beauty.

  • Systems have the ability to deceive people into accepting a certain norm or belief. To counter this, we must not be afraid to ‘live within the truth’.

  • Art has the ability to inspire and to motivate society to fight for the truth.

  • Cultures thrive when their members live in the truth, and reflect their deepest convictions in friendship, work, daily activities, art, and religion.

FAMILY

  • Family is important for men because it is the first social circle that makes the individual aware of his Human Dignity. In fact, the family provides the initial recognition of the person.

  • Then, the family teaches the child to respect the rules in order to live well in the community.

  • Finally, parents and siblings allow the child to become aware of the different social relationships that exist in society: relationships of hierarchy, cooperation, solidarity, etc.

FREEDOM

  •   A complete and true understanding of man’s freedom is essential to the proper functioning of any human society.

  • States should not force people to act against their beliefs, conscience, and religion.

  • The individual always comes before any nation or culture.

  • While everyone should respect ones' religious choices, it remains the duty of each of us to seek the truth.

  •  In matters of moral sense and faith, there can be no obligation. Freedom of conscience is a fundamental human right.

  •  Even in the worst circumstances, Man has the ability to preserve his spiritual freedom by retaining his inner freedom.

  •  To be free and endure adversities, Man needs meaning and purpose to his life.

JUSTICE

  • As a global community, we should see the person not as an object which can be used and discarded at will, but as a human being with sacrosanct dignity, who stands at the center of everything that we do.

  • Human dignity is the foundation for human rights. Having a correct understanding of the human person is the key to building free and just societies.
